Devil's Ride 2019 - Tasmania - Cycle Australia
This trip brought together pretty well everything that Tasmania has to offer the tourist. Wilderness, mountains, beaches, craggy cliffs, settler history, convict history, rivers, unique fauna and flora, towering forests, pastoral lands, inland lakes, vineyards, hop fields, amazing stars.
Tour started in Devonport in the North and followed the East coast to Hobart. Side trips were made to Maria Island and Tasman Peninsula and Port Arthur, important places for convict history. The second leg started in Hobart and headed into the wilderness regions of the West coast and skirted back into Cradle Mountain before reaching out and along the North coast ending in Devonport.
- East Coast: Devonport to Launceston to Coles Bay to Port Arthur to Hobart: February 10, 2019 to February 25, 2019. 785 kms, 6873 m climbing and 5 exploring/rest days.
- West Coast: Hobart to Strathgordon to Stahan to Cradle Mountain to Stanley to Devonport: February 28, 2019 to March 17, 2019. 990 kms, 9588 m climbing and 5 exploring/rest days.
