Ride 2021 - The Victorian Round Trip - Cycle Australia
Cycle Across Oz presents its 2021 Victorian Round Trip ride. The ride consists of two legs which can be ridden individually or combined into a single tour

This trip brings together the best of Victoria from ocean to mountains to rivers and including the fabulous rail trails. Think of wide open beaches, wilderness, mountains, craggy cliffs, pastoral history, rivers and steamboats, unique fauna and flora, towering forests, inland lakes, and always amazing stars.
The full tour begins in Melbourne departing from the iconic Luna Park and heading down famous Beach Road. The details are presented in the South Coast and Great Ocean Road tabs - hover your mouse over the tabs on the left and you will find them
The tour follows minor roads wherever possible - better scenery, quieter and safer.

- Inland VIC and Great Ocean Road: Wangaratta to Echuca to Bendigo to Halls Gap to Great Ocean Road to Melbourne: March 12, 2021 to March 29, 2021. 1,100 kms, 3,582 m climbing and 5 exploring/rest days. $2,585

Logistics. For the South Coast leg you will need to get to Melbourne and depart from Wangaratta. For the Great Ocean Road leg, you will need to get to Wangaratta and depart from Melbourne. Covid travel restrictions are challenging for air travel. Both Melbourne and Wangaratta are reachable by road and rail, and domestic air services. Easiest way to travel to and from Wangaratta is by train - take your bike with you.
Weather
February and March is the tail end of the Summer. Weather is typically quite settled with wind generally from the south west and before the winter rain comes along. Days will be moderate to warm (with maybe a few hot ones) and the nights will be moderate but a bit cooler in the south and in the mountains.
