What We Provide
- Van support vehicle - all gear carried (no more than 15 kgs plus 5 kg camping gear allowance)
- Purpose built trailer
- Cooking facilities
- Camping accommodation at 4* Caravan Parks (where available)
- Upgraded accommodation at specific points of interest (see itinerary for details)
- Morning tea daily
- Some evening meals (see itinerary)
- Fresh water
- First-aid kit
- Basic mechanical back up
- Spare bicycle
- Satellite phone for emergencies
What Should You Bring?
Essential items keeping to one sports bag per person (limit to 15 kgs (24 lbs) plus 5 kgs (8 lbs) for camping equipment which may be kept in a separate bag)
- Bike (in mechanically sound condition)
- Cycle helmet (these are compulsory in Australia)
- Rear view mirror (mandated by Cycle Across Oz)
- Flashing rear light (mandated by Cycle Across Oz)
- Essential spares - cables; spokes (correct size - all sides); tubes (at least 3); 1 tyre (try a folding one); small tools; patch kit
- Tent
- Sleeping bag
- Lightweight mattress
- Cutlery and plates
- Flashlight
- Warm clothes - it is shoulder season and it may be cold. Think layers. Add in arm and knee warmers for cycling warmth
- Wet weather gear - when it rains, it rains quite a bit
- Suitcases and inflatable beds are not allowed
- No need to bring chairs - we have enough
- Hand sanitiser as we will be enforcing Covid-19 policy
- Transport cards for Adelaide (Metrocard) or tap enabled smartphone
